Karen has spent the last 32 years teaching Spanish to all levels here in the UK;
predominantly teaching in the independent sector, in schools including The King’s
School, Canterbury and Headington School, Oxford.
On qualifying as a teacher with an Honours degree in Spanish and French, and
subsequently a Higher Diploma in Education from University College Dublin, Karen
spent several years teaching in Madrid, where Spanish – and all things hispanic –
became her huge passion. Karen absolutely loves teaching students at the very
start of their Spanish career, and seeing them flourish as their confidence in
manipulating the target language goes from strength to strength.
Having worked in several boarding schools as Housemistress, Head of Boarding and
Deputy Head Pastoral, as well as having been a boarder herself, Karen can really
relate to the young people in her care.
Karen describes her personality as energetic, engaging and encouraging as she
really wants all her students, to reach their full potential in all areas of their lives.
