Galina lives with her husband in the beautiful area of the Malvern Hills close to the border of Worcestershire and Herefordshire with glorious countryside views, amazing sunrises, sunsets and cloud formations! They have hosted students since 2022.

Galina’s warmth as a host comes through as soon as you meet her. She is originally from Kazakhstan and has a professional background in education. Galina studied English and German at university and went into teaching after graduating with Distinction. Teaching, followed by working as an Education Inspector and in local government followed. After arriving in the UK fifteen years ago, Galina completed a post graduate MA degree at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge.

She’s always had a wonderful experience of working with young people of all ages and especially with international students. Apart from hosting international students Galina also teaches Russian A-Level for Wendover Online School.

As a host she loves welcoming students, and sharing traditions, history, architecture, music, literature and cooking. Galina is gregarious and friendly, she enjoys the company of young people and does her best to create an atmosphere of support and warmth to encourage students to communicate and explore new areas.
